History of Flying man

This summer I was invited by Venelin Shurelov (Subhuman theatre) to make a projection mapping inside old Soviet aircraft. My installation was part of the renovated Aviomuseum Burgas. The whole exposition interprets the theme of Homo Volans – Flying man in atypical and fascinating way. The main display space is located inside aircraft An-12 and includes authentic objects, models, author’s costumes, AR/VR installations and archives from aviation history.

The content for the projection is composed of real and imaginary images. Some of them were animated and others were printed and glued as stickers. The final composition combines dynamic and static shapes in a fictional story where past meets the future. It was such delight to play with Venelin’s toys!

And so next time you land at Airport Burgas, you should definitely pop in the Museum!
